Dewey Lovins Jr. age 82 of Mansfield, IL formerly of Bloomington and Heyworth IL passed away at 7:40 AM on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his residence. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday (March 26, 2017) at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington IL. The Rev. James Nave will officiate. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Bentown, IL. Visitation will be 12 noon-2:00 PM PM Sunday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington IL. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to Alzheimer’s Research.

Dewey was born October 6, 1934 in Somerset, Kentucky the son of Dewey and Maude Blanton Lovins Sr.

Surviving are his 4 children, Sylvia Anderson, Princeton, IL, James Lovins, Bloomington, IL, Rex (Janet) Lovins, McLean, IL, DeAnn (Bryan) Cusey, Cleveland, OK, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren,1 great great-grandson, 3 brothers, Floyd Lovins, Oklahoma, Ike (Charlene) Lovins, Somerset, KY, Coy (Wanda) Lovins, Fordsville, KY, 3 sisters, Evelyn (Jim) Brown, Towanda, IL, Rachael Probus, Central City, Kentucky and Wanda Probus, Citrus Springs, FL.

Dewey is preceded in death by parents, daughter, Julie Partlow, brother, Jay, 3, sisters, Donna, Grace and Zada “Peanut.”

Dewey was retired from laborers local #362. He was an avid dirt track racing fan.
